1. General Terms
I will provide services as agreed, including dog walking, pet care, home visits, and any other arrangements outlined in your booking confirmation, email, quote, or invoice.
All information you share with me will be treated as strictly confidential, unless otherwise agreed.
Fuel costs within a 5-mile radius of HP18 0WJare included in my standard rates.
Travel outside this area is charged at 50p per mile (round trip).
2. Payments
A non-refundable 25% deposit is required when confirming your booking.
Full payment for services is due 3 days before the start date.
For regular or ongoing services, you may choose to pay weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, and invoices must be settled within 3 days of issue.
If payment is not received within this timeframe, I reserve the right to pause or terminate services.
Should you return early from a booking, the full amount will still be payable.
Bank Holidays may incur additional charges, which I will confirm at the time of booking.
Payment can be made by bank transfer or invoice.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
Please notify me as soon as possible if you need to cancel or change your booking.
The following notice periods and fees apply:
For regular monthly services, I require one full calendar month’s notice (from the 1st) if you wish to cancel.
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for individual visit cancellations, except in cases of emergency or extreme weather.
Late cancellations are charged in full.
4. Client Responsibility
You, the client, are responsible for any and all harm or damage caused by your dog while under my care or while using my services.
You agree to indemnify George’s Dog Walking & Pet Services in full against any liability arising from such harm or damage to third parties.
5. Dog Health & Behaviour
By using my services, you confirm that your dog:
All dogs will undergo an initial assessmentbefore regular services begin.
I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services for any dog I consider unsafe, aggressive, or disruptive.
You must notify me immediately if your dog displays aggressive, dangerous, or unwelcome behaviour, or if they become unwell, pregnant, or in season.
Female dogs in season or pregnant cannot attend any services.
6. Group Walks & Off-Lead Exercise
Some services involve group walks or social play. I supervise all dogs carefully, but you acknowledge that minor injuries (e.g. scratches, strains) can occur during normal play.
Dogs are only walked off-lead once you have signed an off-lead consent form, and this will always remain at my discretion.
7. Veterinary Treatment & Emergencies
You are responsible for the full cost of any veterinary treatment or related expenses if your dog becomes ill or injured while under my care.
I am authorised to seek veterinary attention if I believe it necessary.
I will contact your usual vet where possible, but in emergencies, I may use an alternative registered veterinary practice.
You agree to reimburse any fees or expenses incurred immediately upon collection of your dog, or as agreed in writing.
Even if vaccinated, your dog may still contract Kennel Cough or similar illnesses. You agree not to hold me responsible should this occur.
You also agree to ensure your pet is free from contagious diseases or parasites.
Please inform me immediately if your dog has or has been exposed to any such condition.
I reserve the right to suspend services until I am satisfied your pet is fit and healthy.
8. Pet Safety & Equipment
All dogs must wear a collar with an ID tag showing the owner’s name and address, as required by The Control of Dogs Order 1992.
Failure to comply will result in cancellation of that day’s walk.
Please provide a secure, well-fitting collar or harness.
Wear and tear of equipment is your responsibility.
For safety, please ensure your dog has not eaten within one hour of their walk to avoid the risk of bloat (gastric torsion).
9. Access to Property & Key Holder Waiver
You agree to provide safe access to your pet for each scheduled visit (e.g. via key, code, or presence at home).
If I cannot access your property, the visit will be charged in full.
By signing the key holder waiver form, you indemnify me against any liability for loss or damage to your property or contents.
10. Cats, Small Pets & Property
I will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, or death of any cat, small pet, or bird that has access to the outdoors during a booking.
If you have indoor-only pets, please ensure all precautions are taken to prevent escape.
I cannot be held responsible for theft, damage, illness, or injury to your property or pets unless negligence can be proven.
11. Insurance
I am fully insured with Protectivity Business Insurance.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your home, contents, and pets are adequately insured.
12. Photos, Videos & Media
By using my services, you consent to your pet being photographed or filmed for use on my website and social media.
All media remains the property of George’s Dog Walking & Pet Services.
If you would prefer to opt out, please email hello@georgesdogwalking.co.uk.
13. Timing & Emergencies
I always aim to arrive at the agreed time for walks or visits.
However, due to the nature of the work, please allow a 1.5-hour window either side of your booked time.
If I cannot attend due to an emergency, I will make suitable arrangements — such as adjusting visit lengths or rescheduling — to ensure your pet still receives quality care.
14. Changes to Terms
No variation of these Terms and Conditions will be valid unless confirmed by me in writing.
